    SUMMER CRAPPIE CHALLENGE

    In App Registration Only

    Cost  = $20 (Entry Fee $15 plus $5 processing fee)

    This is an open tournament for anyone to participate.  100% Payback of Entry Fees. There is a $100 cash bonus available if the winner is a Connect Fishing League member.

    Crappie Tournament - weight based - cumulative total of best 7 catches by weight.

    Tournament Code will be posted on the event details page in the app once the event starts and you are registered.

    In order for this tournament to go smoothly, do some preparation ahead of time. Each angler must have either an iPhone or Android and install the free ConnectScale app to record your catches.  To get the ConnectScale app iPhone Users -Download on iTunes App Storeand Android Users -Download on Google Play.

    Your entry fee and processing fee will be collected as an in-app purchase. Go to the Events tab in the app, find the Event listing for the appropriate round you want to enter and tap to View/Join and complete payment with PayPal or Credit Card powered by Stripe.

    All catches must be weighed with a ConnectScale.  No other weighing devices are allowed.

    We recommend the use of one of the measuring boards listed at the end of the rules as a length confirmation for each catch.

    Read the rules carefully.  Failure to comply with the rules will result in disallowed catches and possible disqualification.




    Prizes - 100% payout of the collected entry fees go to Prize Pool. 

    1st Place = 60% of Entry Fee Prize Pool

    2nd Place = 25% of Entry Fee Prize Pool

    3rd Place = 15% of Entry Fee Prize Pool

    What to do now?

    When:

    • Saturday June 20th through Tuesday September 22nd.

    Where: 

    • Any public waterway in the United States or Canada.  No private ponds allowed.

    Who:  

    • Any angler in the United States or Canada who is not under a Shelter In Place Order from Local, State, or National Government.  All anglers must follow all applicable laws and have appropriate licenses.

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Step 1 - The ConnectScale APP

    All anglers must use the ConnectScale Fishing App to register and log entries.

    Once you have downloaded the app.  Complete setting up your User Profile with First and Last names, Email and a Profile Picture that shows your face. 

    The unique tournament ID code will be posted on the Events Detail page in the app.   To join the tournament, use the ConnectScale app, tap the Events Tab on the Bottom Menu. Select the My Events page on top of the page and select the Join button for the Summer Crappie event. 

    Step 2 - Measuring Devices 

    The Summer Crappie Challenge is a best 7 total weight based tournament.  All entries must be verified using ConnectScale and one of the recommended length measuring devices listed at the end of the rules.

    Step 3 - Go Fishing and Catch Crappie

    Only Crappie are eligible for scoring in this tournament.

    Step 4 - Measure and Log

    Record your catch weight with the ConnectScale and enter into the ConnectScale app.

    Measure the length of the catch with your measuring device and enter the length into the ConnectScale app.  The measurements are used to confirm validity of catch.  The length of the catch is not used to determine the winning catch but to validate the integrity of the entry.

    The nose of the catch must touch the bump on the measuring device.  Lengths should be recorded in the nearest quarter inch rounded down.

    Using the ConnectScale app, input the following data:

    • Weight of the catch in the Weight Field automatically obtained from ConnectScale. 

    • Length of the catch in the Length Field.

    • Select appropriate species of catch. (White Crappie or Black Crappie)

    • Tap the Event Code Field and make sure the Tournament Code for the Summer Crappie Challenge is selected.  The event is selected with a Green Checkmark. 

    • Verification Photos - Two verification photos for each catch must be entered into the ConnectScale app at the time of the catch.  One photo must show a “fish selfie” with the entire catch in the photo.  The other photo must show the weight and length verification.

    Verification photos must show the Unique Tournament ID on a card.  Tournament ID cards can be printed using the officialConnect Fishing League Tournament card.  The Tournament Code will be posted on the Event Details page in the ConnectScale App once you are registered. 

    Photo Requirements:

    • Each submission must be a unique catch.

    • Each submission must include Unique Tournament ID.  This code will be published the night before the event starts and sent to you via email.

    • Each photo must show the entire fish from mouth to tail.

    • The mouth/lip, eye, and tail fin must not be covered or obstructed in photo.

    • Tail of the fish may be pinched.

    • The mouth of the fish must be closed and placed against the beginning of the board.

    • The measurement must be from left to right with dorsal fins on top of photo and pelvic and anal fins downward.

    • Measurement markings on board must be clearly visible.

    • Photos must be taken with participants' own phone using the In app photo feature.

    • Photos should be taken straight on or from directly overhead and not at an angle to ensure verification of the catch.  If the tournament director is not able to easily read the measurement, entries may be disallowed.  

    • Blurry photos or photos where the length marker is unclear will be excluded.

    • Second generation (screen shot, or photo of photos) will be excluded.

    • Catch must be in a natural state and unaltered.

    • Any catch submitted that does not meet all of the criteria will be excluded from total.

    • Tournament judges and the tournament director will have final decision on any violations and rulings.  

    In the ConnectScale APP, make sure the Private catch slider is turned off and not showing Green.  If the catch is kept Private we will not see it in Public Feed or in the database when we are verifying results.  You may keep Share Map (GPS) Location private so that no other users will not know your location but the tournament admin will still be able to verify that the catch was weighed on a body of water and for safety verification.  After you have completed ALL of the steps above, tap Save in the top right-hand corner to save the catch submission and enter the catch in the competition.

    Log as many catches as you like during the tournament.  This is a best 7 catch by weight tournament. The app will total your best 7.

    • Adding Length Measurement must be done in Inches in .25 inch increments.  For instance, x.00 x.25 x.50 or x.75 where x is the number of inches.

    • Users must Round Down and enter to the closest .25 or (¼) Inch mark.

    • Any submission not rounded to .00 .25 .50 .75 will be disqualified.

    • Tie breaker will go to the most catches entered.

    • If still tied the tie breaker will be who logged the 1st catch by date/time.

    Recommended Measuring Devices:

    For weight based events most any measuring device is acceptable for catch verification.  Devices must be flat and show a fair length verification. 

    Entry Fees

    The tournament's entry fee is $15 with a $5 processing fee.  Entry fees and tournament fees are non-refundable if for any reason you are unable to fish.

    Disputes and Complaints

    Any concerns about the rules should be discussed before the start of the tournament.

    The tournament director has the final decision on any complaints. 

    Formal Complaints must be submitted to the tournament director and provide documentation including event, title date, name of angler, catch #, description of condition being disputed, and reason for dispute and requested action. 

    Unless a clear violation of law or fraud, any dispute issued after 24 hours of the end of the event will be reviewed without affecting the results. 

    Prizes 

    Advertised Payout amounts will be adjusted based on the final number of paid participants.  Prizes will be processed after all photos submitted have been judged and results reviewed. Winners of Sponsored Prizes must complete Prize Claim Form that will be emailed to them.  

    Taxes

    Competitors are responsible for all applicable taxes.  Participants that win a cumulative prize for the year of over $600 must complete a IRS W9 Form before any prize amount exceeding $600 will be distributed.

    Waivers and Releases

    By registering for an event the participant grants Connect Outdoors, Inc the right to use all photographs, likeness, stories, accounts, interviews, and information pertaining to the event for marketing and promotional purposes.  This release is granted without expectation of additional compensation.

    As a condition of participation and by virtue of registering for competitions, each participant agrees to accept the terms and conditions of Connect Outdoors, Inc Waiver and Release of Liability.  This absolves Connect Outdoors, Inc, its officers, staff, and volunteers from responsibility and threat of litigation in the case of injury, loss, or death sustained by a participant while participating in an event.

    Final Details

    Connect Outdoors, Inc and its staff reserves the right to disqualify or omit any catches that do not meet the rules described above.  All decisions are FINAL.   

    All users must practice safe social distancing measures as outlined by the CDC.  The tournament will be postponed if a national quarantine or shelter in place order is given.

    Included in this offer is:

    1 Cabin that sleeps 4 to six people, each cabin is equipped with a full kitchen and bathrooms with hot and cold running water. There are also 6 beds and a wood stove for heat. 

    Use of a 16 foot boat with a 15hp motor and 5 gallons of gas per boat

    This package is good for up to 2 people and they will arrive on Saturday midday and leave the following Saturday midday.  They will be fishing for Northern Pike and Walleye on a pristine 18 mile long lake that gets very little pressure. Senneterre Outfitters is the only outfitter on the lake and there are only two other private camp owners on the lake.  We are located 90 miles, almost a 3 hour drive from the closest town making this a true wilderness fishing trip with a few added amenities.

    Tournament Notes:

    Length Based Tournament (no scale required) 

    The total entry fee for the entire event including big fish is $20.00 ($10 = Big Fish)

    Big Fish 100% Scholarship Payback

    Pre Registration Cut-Off is July 9th at 9:00 PM EST.  

    In App Tournament Confirmations for Pre Registration will go out on July 9th at 10:00 PM EST.  

    Registration Cut-Off is July 17 11:59:59PM (Note any registrations after Pre Registration Cut-Off on July 9th will take up to 24 Hours before you receive In App Confirmation.)  

    Final Results will be "Official" on Wednesday July 29 at 7PM Eastern Time.

    Teams: Must contain at least one TN JR-HS Bass Nation Member. Adults are allowed to fish. No more than 3 allowed on a Team.

      PERMITTED FISHING METHODS

      • All bass must be caught alive in a conventional sporting manner by the angler.

       • All lures must adhere to state regulations.

      • Only artificial lures may be used, except for pork trailers and biodegradable soft baits.
      • Only ONE fishing rod may be used at a time. Each cast must be completed before another cast is allowed and there can never be more than one lure from one rod actively fishing in the water at any time.
      • All bass caught while sight-fishing must be hooked inside the mouth.
      • Trolling as a method of fishing is NOT allowed. Long-lining and drifting with current/wind are allowed. Trolling is defined as directly using the vessel’s propulsion to present a lure.
      • An angler’s or Team catch must be safely released before casting or fishing may resume.
      • NO FISH PERMITTED IN LIVEWELL, STRINGER, BASKET, TANK or HOLDING TYPE DEVICES.

      SCORING

      • Scoring is determined by length using ¼ inch increments of each contestant’s catch during each tournament day via the Catch, Photograph, and Release (CPR) method.
      • Competitors will be provided with a unique identifier for each tournament day to be used in each photo submission.
      • The (5) five longest verified App Length of individual fish will be totaled for the anglers score each day.
      • The contestant or Team with the highest total score after competition is the winner.
      • The contestant or Team is responsible for correct Calculation of Board Measurements.
      • Length Rounding will be DOWN and to the nearest ¼ inch.

       • Only fish submitted on the approved measuring device listed below that is marked in ¼ increments measuring device will be scored.


      MEASURING DEVICE

      • Any FLAT bump board used for measuring Bass in ¼ inch manufactured by a company is permitted. Recommend: Gator Grip Ruler, Golden Ruler, Bass Pro Shop Ruler, Hawg Trough and Ketch Board.

        • Contestants are responsible for their own measuring device.

         • Tournament Admin’s have the right to verify those devices.

        . • Anyone found to be using a measuring device that is determined to not be legal, will be disqualified from the tournament.

        • Please ensure the markings on your measuring device are clear but not excessive and can be seen by the scoring official.
        • A clean and clearly marked measuring device is expected.


        PHOTO CRITERIA

        Anglers are responsible to get all photos turned in to the ConnectScale app. Any issues must be reported to the Tournament Director.
        Each fish photo must include all the following criteria to avoid disqualification:
          1.      The entire Bass, from the tip of the lip to the end of the tail, on an approved measuring device.
          2.      Laying with the tip of the lip against the post (Bump) end of the measuring device.
          3.      Measuring device post (Bump) must be visible.
          4.      The mouth of the Bass must be CLOSED COMPLETELY.
          5.      The tail of the Bass must be lying flat on the board and will be measured to the longest point.
          6.      Pinching the tail is permitted.
          7.      Bass orientation must be facing to the left, tail to the right, belly toward the angler.
          8.      Measuring device markings must be clearly visible. Including the actual numbers.
          9.      Assigned unique identifier’s number must be clearly visible.
          10.   One overhead photo shot frame (not shot at a drastic angle).
          11.   Fish must be clear of any holding devices including fishing lure or hook.
          12.   Lip, eye, and tail cannot be obstructed in the photo, even by your hand or identifier.
          13.   Hand or fingers must not be under the gill plate.
          • TIP: It is recommended to take a few photos to ensure Photo Criteria.

          Photos are Good. Entire fish is visible, mouth closed and ID Code visible.
